Save money, time and effort buying solar panels with Solar Together

Like many residents of Essex, I’ve made a number of improvements to my home over the years to make it more energy efficient.  This includes having a number of solar panels installed to generate my own renewable energy.

When it comes to choosing suppliers for solar panels, we know that many people find it difficult to know where to start.  And that’s where our Solar Together scheme can help.  Solar Together is a group-buying scheme to help residents and small businesses to purchase high- quality solar panels and battery storage at an affordable price and from trusted suppliers.

This is the 3rd year that we’ll be running this successful scheme. In the last round our residents saved an impressive 37% on the market value for solar panels as well as saving an estimated 480 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year. It’s win-win!

Last year I had the pleasure of meeting Hannah and her family in Chelmsford who had recently installed solar panels as part of the scheme.  She was delighted both with the quality of the installation and the money saved on her electricity bills.

To take part simply register your interest online. You’ll need to enter some basic details such as estimated roof size and orientation.

On 15 March, approved suppliers will bid for the work and the lowest cost provider will be selected.

Shortly after you’ll be contacted with recommendations, a quote and specification and you’ll have plenty of time to think about whether to go ahead. I should stress that there is no obligation to accept the quote however, if you decide to proceed, a survey and installation date will be agreed.

And that’s it! It’s been designed to make the process as easy as possible.
